After a whole year of having no Taylor Swift lyrics about being 24, I am finally turning an age that Taylor shouts out in a song… and I am about to make that my entire personality.
This is how I DIY-ed a reputation-themed 25th birthday party. Rep girlies, this one is for you!
Starting off with decorations, I knew I wanted to incorporate the lyrics from “Dancing With Our Hands Tied” from the iconic album, reputation. I ran to my cricut (that I got as an early birthday present) and made an “oh, 25 years old” banner using the reputation album cover font. I found this font online with an easy, and free, download. I then strung it onto white ribbon and used it as a cute photo-op for my party guests.
Another one of my DIY’s included a newspaper that featured reputation lingo & call backs to turning 25. I made this design using canva and printed it with a regular ink-jet printer through Adobe Premiere. This allowed me to print the newspaper “poster size,” which Adobe allows you to do. After taping the pages together, I had a cute photo prop and sweet keepsake from my birthday.
DIY-ing a cute, edible, birthday cake was not in my wheelhouse so, of course, I had a local bakery curate the cutest reputation cake for me. However, I did add the little black bows you see gracing the side of the cake. I can’t bake but I sure can tie a cute bow.
And for those of you who are not DIY savvy or want some extra decorations, here are some of my favorite reputation decor finds on Amazon.
A reputation birthday party is not complete without an on theme birthday outfit. I decided to wear this black bubble hem dress from Forever 21. I paired it with gold accessories and reputation press on nails from my favorite press on nail small business, Pressed By Makk.
Here’s to being an age that has its own Taylor Swift lyric, which must be good luck, and to continuing to make absolutely everything about Taylor Swift.
Now imagine how cool it would be if Taylor dropped reputation (taylor’s version) so I could sing “oh 25 years old” (taylor’s version) while being 25… just a thought.
