There are so many cardigans in the Taylor Swift cardigan universe, which all started back in 2020 with the release of folklore. These merch pieces are some of my favorite apparel that Taylor has ever put out, purely due to their effortless styling ability. 

One of the most common dreads from fangirls, who are trying to wear their merch in their everyday outfits, is that some merch pieces scream fangirl a little too loud. However, these cardigans are the perfect middle ground of subtle fangirl merch apparel. 

I am going to take you through some of my favorite ways to style my cardigans that elevate my look to the next level!

The first styling tip I have for the cardigan collectors is to tuck your cardigan! This is my favorite way to wear my cardigans. First, wear a sports bra under the cardigan and tuck the bottom hem of the cardigan into the sports bra. This immediately gives some shape to your silhouette and lets the cardigan appear cropped. Add a skirt or a straight leg pant to this and you’re good to go!!

The second styling tip I have is to drape the cardigan off the shoulder. Taylor’s cardigans are so versatile due to their oversized fit which makes the neckline a bit wider. You can use this to your advantage and pair your off the shoulder cardigan with distressed shorts or even a mini skirt. This is such a prime example of how you can have one, singular cardigan and wear it so many different ways. 

The last styling tip I have for the iconic Taylor Swift cardigan is LAYERING! Layering your cardigan is going to be the best way to show your unique style and how creative you can be with your outfits. Some of my favorite things to layer with my cardigans are turtlenecks and collared shirts. If you sandwich the colors right, you can use your layers as a way to pop out some of the subtle colors in the cardigan. Take the RED (Taylor’s Version) cardigan for example; by layering a red turtleneck underneath, it perfectly compliments the subtle red stars on the cardigan sleeves. This is the perfect way for you to show your styling abilities!!
