One of my favorite things to talk about is Taylor Swift’s style, especially her red carpet style. Leading up to an event, there are so many rumors of what Taylor will wear or what easter egg she may or may not hint at on the carpet. There’s so much noise around her red carpet fashion so you know she has to deliver… and that, she did.
One thing Taylor loves is the Grammys. From the dancing to the fashion, she hits it out of the park every year. For the 67th Grammy Awards, Taylor decided to sport a custom Vivienne Westwood, short mini dress. Not only is this dress the most eye-catching red you have ever seen, it is also so beautifully ruched to form the most perfect silhouette. And of course, in Taylor Swift easter egg fashion, she perfectly hinted at her Guilty As Sin line; “what if he’s written ‘mine’ on my upper thigh,” with a slightly bejeweled “T” right on her leg. This was the cutest and most clever nod to one of the best lyrics on The Tortured Poets Department.
And how could we avoid the elephant in the room if we didn’t talk about the absolute CLOWNERY by the swifties (what’s new). Everyone was waiting for a glimpse of Taylor’s Grammy outfit to see if it would hint at any of the upcoming re-recordings. Whether it be a snake-embossed dress or maybe some country boots (lol can you imagine), everyone was watching. And in perfect Taylor style… her dress was not an easter egg. I know this might be a hot take, but I think Taylor was there for a good time and not to hint at or lead the swifties on with any easter eggs. However, one theory that I saw online during Grammy night, that I might be able to get behind, is the idea that Taylor’s “T” on her leg may actually be the title of TS12…too far?
Although, The Tortured Poets Department did not take home any Grammys, Taylor put one of her best Grammy looks in the history books. From the sequined red mini dress to the 12 rhinestones on her earrings (see… TS12), the entire look was a 13 out of 13.
Now… does anyone know how to make a Grammy award from scratch to give to an album that clearly deserved it… asking for a friend.
